Peach Green Tea Smoothie

Ever hear the old quote, “killing two birds with one stone”? Today’s recipe is just an example of this kind of thing. Think of the cooling, antioxidant, restorative powers of green tea,, the vitamin rich deliciousness of a peach, the calming sensations of honey and the probiotic goodness of curd and you have a drink that is not just delicious, but brilliant for you. Smoothies traditionally do not incorporate tea in them, but with the addition of green tea, this particular smoothie, is elevated to the level of a ‘complete’ health drink.. Let’s explain how that is… as you are already aware, smoothies can act both as rejuvenation shakes or even meal replacements. This means that this particular smoothie can both be a quick pick up before a session at the gym and a hurried morning power drink, in case breakfast isn’t an option.

Peach green tea smoothie.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup chilled pre-brewed cold green tea
  • 1 cup frozen peaches
  • 1/2 banana frozen
  • 1/2 cup of probiotic yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon unflavoured whey
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup ice

 

How to make it:

 

  • Pour in all ingredients into a blender, and blitz until creamy and smooth.

  • Serve immediately
